MELISSA L. Connolly, Catering Coordinator
Melissa first joined the Gourmet by the Bay team in 2007 as a part-time server for off-site events. Her attention to detail and desire to meet only the highest of quality standards quickly made her one of GBTB’s most important team members. In May, 2011, Melissa accepted a full-time promotion to Catering Coordinator.
Melissa brings to the team over 20 years of experience in the food and beverage and hospitality industries. Over the years, she has served as the Reservations Coordinator for the nationally acclaimed Inn at Perry Cabin and as the Luxury Sales Manager for another Orient Express Property, Charleston Place Hotel. In both locations, she worked directly with guests to ensure that all their needs were met during their visits to the different properties, in addition to the managerial elements of those positions. Later, Melissa served first as the Reservations Manager and lastly as the Sales Manager for the St Michaels Harbour Inn, Marina and Spa. Again her duties included many managerial elements, but also required extensive coordination with guests and group leaders to ensure that their visits and/or meetings on site met their expectations.
Today, at Gourmet by the Bay, Melissa coordinates all of the staff training and scheduling, works directly with the event designers and planners to ensure that all vendor needs are met for every event, and coordinates events on site as necessary. She is a very important and integral member of the team.
Melissa grew up in Port Washington, New York, but now resides in Claiborne, MD, with her husband, Curt, and son, Owen.
